Welcome To Eritrean Muslim Community of Northern California

Alhamdulillah, by His grace and bounty, we were blessed with the opportunity to hold a momentous meeting on November 23, 1997. In that meeting, we decided to form an association where the growing needs of our community would be met.

Indeed, it was a day when our hearts were united and we dedicated ourselves to working together and pooling our resources for the benefit of our fellow Eritrean brothers and sisters in Islam.

Eritrean Muslims in North California (EMCNC) is a non-profit organization, officially established on November 23, 1997, with a genuine idea to form an association where the group needs of our community will be met without us being a burden to others.

EMCNC organization creates an environment that enhances religious and cultural development as well as educational and entertainment activities for Eritrean Muslims. In addition, EMCNC fosters interaction and cooperation with other local organizations.

Membership eligibility is open for all Eritrean Muslims 21 years of age and older who reside in Northern California which includes 21 counties, and four regions — the greater San Francisco Bay Area, the Monterey Bay area, the Sacramento area, and the Northern San Joaquin Valley.

EMCNC has four branches in its organizational structure. These are EMM, EMW, EMY, and EMK
EMCNC will have a governing body known as the EMCNC Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will consist of five members elected through a direct vote from the registered members of the community.
The organization has approved bylaws that govern its affairs.

Mission Statement

Our mission is threefold. First, as a community, we will help one another not only in being obedient to Allah (SWT) but also in instilling in our children Islamic values and morals as they grow in an environment that lacks the advantages of having extended families.

Second, we aim to provide each member of our association with Islamic assistance from our pool of general funds as specified by the bylaws.

Third, to create a dynamic community that fosters our Eritrean identity by preserving our traditional and cultural values.

EMCNC

Our community is blessed with many talented members. The community can only progress forward when we all do our part. Let us proactively participate and build this community.
